Unsung camp heroes
Support staff role
Support staff are the backbone of our camps!
Experience a summer job like never before as you become the lifeblood of a summer camp. Often popular with those looking to Work & Travel Canada on a working holiday, you will work hard behind the scenes to ensure everything operates smoothly.
Although certifications are not required, the ‘behind the scenes’ elements of this role requires experience, skills or willingness to learn in areas such as maintenance, cooking, housekeeping and laundry.
Your role
You will be assisting with the running of the camp. Depending on your skills you may be assisting with meal preparation and meal times, maintaining the camp facilities and grounds or cleaning bunks and laundering clothes.
Camp support staff typically do not share cabins with campers, and stay with other staff in staff cabins.
In your downtime and days off, you will be free to enjoy all that your surroundings have to offer! Our camps are located in some of the most picturesque places on earth, with natural beauty all around.
Some camps will allow you to stay on site during your days off and make use of the beautiful camp site and amazing activities. You may also choose to leave your camps property for your days off and explore the nearby cities and towns.

why should you work as a support staff member?
I think camp is a really nice experience as you have the opportunity to meet new people and experience new areas in which you can apply your knowledge, and also to learn new things. In my daily life I do not work in kitchens, but here I am learning lots of new activities and enjoying meeting new friends and just everything that's involved in the camp experience.
